Afterwards, the activation step is performed at SilverSan AG. The result: a sandwich consisting of aluminum oxide &#8211; silver &#8211; OxyCat\u00ae (left). <strong>Key advantage: The active surface is multiplied. As a result, kinetics and, hence, flow rates increase.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Catalyst research<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>OxyCat\u00ae activity is higher than one would expect based on the increase of the surface alone<\/strong>. Studies on silver-based carrier catalysts show that the substrate (i.e. the carrier) significantly impacts catalytic properties. The carrier\u2019s base-acid properties are crucial. They modulate:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Adsorption and desorption processes of the reactants on the catalyst surface <\/li><li>Electronic situation (free orbitals) of the catalyst<\/li><li>Reaction paths and end products will change accordingly.<\/li><li>Microstructure of the catalyst Cluster formation, imperfections, distortions etc. are usually areas of increased activity.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>These latest findings in catalyst research have been rigorously implemented in the selection of our ceramic oxide carrier as well as during the entire OxyCat\u00ae manufacturing process.  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>OxyCat\u00ae catalysts can easily be integrated into existing treatment processes.
